Why Should I Evangelize?

I.	THE LORD COMMANDED IT.
	A.	The Lord commanded that the gospel be proclaimed to all (Mt 28:19; Mk 16:15; Lk 24:46-47; Acts 1:8).
	B.	Unfortunately, we live in a time when the gospel has not been proclaimed to all.
	C.	"Of one the Lord has made the race, / Thro' one has come the fall; / Where sin has gone must go His grace; /
		The Gospel is for all."

II.	PEOPLE REQUIRE IT.
	A.	Unless those outside of Christ hear the Gospel, they cannot be saved.
		1.	1 Thess 2:16.
			a.	Paul regarded those outside Christ as lost.
			b.	We must regard those outside of Christ as lost.
		2.	The only way for people to be saved is to hear the Gospel (Rm 1:16; Rm 10:13-14).
	B.	There is no reason to ask, "Can those in Africa (or wherever) who have never heard the truth be saved?"
		The Scriptures answer, "No."
	C.	There is a "Macedonian" call (Acts 16:9-10).
	D.	"Say not the heathen are at home; / Beyond we have no call; / for why should we be blest alone; /
		The gospel is for all."

III.	DUTY DEMANDS IT.
	A.	We must feel an obligation (a duty) to proclaim the gospel.
		1.	1 Cor 9:16-Nothing is more important than the gospel.
		2.	Jer 20:9.
		3.	We need to feel this obligation because:
			a.	Jesus is the hope of the world. Without him, nothing matters.
			b.	Humanity has been given the duty of teaching-God doesn't speak from heaven,
angels don't give visions; therefore, we must teach.
	B.	We should not withhold the gospel from anyone. We cannot be stingy.
		1.	Mt 10:7-8.
		2.	We were saved to save others.
	C.	"Received ye freely, freely give, / From ev'ry land they call; / Unless they hear they cannot live; /
		The Gospel is for all."

IV. JUDGMENT EXPECTS IT.
	A.	At Judgment, we will be judged-in part-to how evangelistic we have been.
		1.	Ezek 33:7-9.
			a.	Ezekiel's obligation was to tell.
			b.	If someone refused to obey, he wasn't responsible.
			2.	If we are too ashamed, too busy, too proud, or too whatever to share the gospel,
				we cannot be saved.
	B.	We will also be judged as to how we have used our talents.
		1.	Mt 25:14-30 (the Parable of the Talents).
		2.	Those in the parable were judged not according to how much they brought, but by how they used what
			they were given.
		3.	We must use our talents to glorify God.
