I. WHY SHOULD THE CHURCH CARE FOR THE LOST?
A. Jesus did.
1. Jn 4-The woman at the well.
2. Jn 8-The woman caught in adultery.
3. Jesus knew that workers are needed (Mt 9:35-38).
4. He taught us that we should go (Mt 28:19-20; Mk 16:15).
5. God desires that people be saved (2 Pt 3:9).
B. Being lost is a horrible condition.
1. Being lost means being without Christ, without hope, & without God (Eph 2:12).
2. Hell is a real place (Lk 16:19ff).
C. Without the Gospel, people are really lost.
1. 1 Thess 2:14-16.
2. If someone has never heard the Gospel, that person is lost!
D. Gratitude.
1. We have been saved & we should want others to be saved as well.
2. Mt 10:8.
E. Our own salvation depends on our evangelistic activities.
1. Ez 33:1-9.
2. Acts 20:26-27.
3. Acts 18:6.
II. WHY DO WE SOMETIMES NOT SHOW THIS CONCERN?
A. We get caught up in daily affairs & forget heavenly things.
B. We feel inadequate.
1. We feel we can't do much about the masses going to hell.
2. We feel we don't know enough.
C. We like to think it's not my responsibility.
III. HOW CAN WE HELP EVANGELIZE?
A. Set an example (1 Pt 3:1-2).
B. Teach (Col 1:28-29; Acts 8:4).
C. Do whatever we can.
1. World Bible School.
2. Passing out tracts.
3. Etc.
